The 2007 Weblog Awards - Best Sports Blog Finalist

Well, I just happened to stumble on a page via Goggle Alerts to find out that On Frozen Blog has been named a finalist in the Best Sports Blog category of the 2007 Weblog Awards.

I'm sure I can speak for everyone at OFB in saying that we are honored to be selected a finalist, as there are SO MANY good blogs out there. We do realize that we are underdogs in this category and to even be listed with some of them is a great honor. Just check out the finalist list:2007 weblog finalist
Heavy competition indeed. Many thanks goes out to those who nominated us. Perhaps we'll be lucky to place higher than 10th. In any case, please click on the ballot below to navigate to the official page to cast your vote. You are able to vote once every 24 hours with the polls closing on November 8th.

Perhaps they send an email at some point, but I first found out via the Google Alert. Haven't received any word from the Weblog Award folk.

Kissing Suzy Kolber is already killing everyone. I expect Deadspin to start posting serious numbers, too.

Congrats, good thing there is no poll for greatest local sports team, because CSN preempting the caps for the wiz, while the wiz is on espn, is not something that would get them votes...

Congrats!! Good to see "one of our own" in the running, no matter who wins in the end.

Congrats on coming as far as you have on the Weblog Awards! Weblog Awards are great for indicating which blogs are worth a read, but then you still have to read the hundreds of posts each day that those blogs post. TheIssue.com does a great job handpicking the best posts each day into a daily blog newspaper. It is definitely worth checking out.

You can read it at www.TheIssue.com.

You've got my repeated vote. At about 7 or 8 votes now. Just spread the word and we'll be like Sabres fans in the all-star voting.
