Namen mögen Gretzky, Howe, Orr, Sawchuk, Rumpf, Lemieux….Bondra? I think he was a great player and a great Cap. I think a retired number with Caps and maybe DC or Caps Hall of Fame. But not Hockey HOF. He never put up the numbers these guys did. So he scored 50 goals twice which is great. But never among top pt leaders in the league Never put up 100 pts. Even years when Lemieux and Jagr put up 161 and 149 respectivly, Bondra had 80. I do think there are other players that deserve it more.

  • Here’s why Bondra is virtually — virtually, not definitely (nothing’s definite — except taxes and Crosby diving and whining), but virtually - a mortal lock for the Hall: He scored his 500 goals during the most goal-challenged period in hockey history, the era of the neutral zone trap, the left wing lock, and especially goaltenders armored with sofas inside their sweaters and on their legs. This will not be lost on the league’s voting powers.
