  1. Should he, in my opinion? Yes. But in actuality I think he’s a longshot. I hope I’m wrong though.

Being one of the 30 members of the 500 goal club has to go a long way. Also does leading the league twice in goals (the second time tied with Teemu). Too bad the Richard trophy come into being the following season.

Playing in Washington will definitely hurt though, because so many voters will be unfamiliar with his career beyond looking up stats.

Die hard Caps fna and Yeah he deserves it but there are many others ahead of him that do/did more and arent in there. are we really saying he’s up there with the legends? Names like Gretzky, Howe, Orr, Sawchuk, Hull, Lemieux….Bondra? I think he was a great player and a great Cap. I think a retired number with Caps and maybe DC or Caps Hall of Fame. But not Hockey HOF. He never put up the numbers these guys did. So he scored 50 goals twice which is great. But never among top pt leaders in the league Never put up 100 pts. Even years when Lemieux and Jagr put up 161 and 149 respectivly, Bondra had 80. I do think there are other players that deserve it more.

  6. Here’s why Bondra is virtually — virtually, not definitely (nothing’s definite — except taxes and Crosby diving and whining), but virtually - a mortal lock for the Hall: He scored his 500 goals during the most goal-challenged period in hockey history, the era of the neutral zone trap, the left wing lock, and especially goaltenders armored with sofas inside their sweaters and on their legs. This will not be lost on the league’s voting powers.
