   It’s not a stellar deal but it works. I can understand why maybe the front office was a little hesitant to lock him up long-term, though we don’t know if that was indeed the case or not.

   Not sure yet about Kozlov. He just doesn’t look very comfortable – maybe the move to RW tonight will help? Yikes, what would we do if tonight’s first line combo is dynamite, change it up again?

    I feel bad for Semin. I don’t want him rushed back in the lineup again. Let it heal properly. No skating for 30 days, minimum. Plenty of therapy. Hopefully, there is no structural damage or bone chips and he won’t require surgery.

No way is he a powerplay specialist (that’s somebody who plays fourth line minutes 5 on 5 and then on the power play, like Carolina’s Jeff Hamilton). Ovechkin got three minutes (= 25%) more of even strength time per game than Semin while on the PP the were about even. That, plus their respective linemates, accounts for the difference in even strenght points. In my view Semin is a unique, extremely talented player who can light it up no matter with or against whom he is playing. Just think about it – 38 goals playing with Kris Beech!
