I had a quick email exchange with the Caps’ 2007 2nd round draft pick Josh Godfrey today. I asked him how the season was going; he said he’s off to a good start with 7 goals and 7 assists in the first 10 games. Um… “a good start” is a bit of an understatement.
After hearing those numbers, I pulled up the OHL website to see how he ranks among scoring leaders. It should come as no surprise that John Tavares is leading the league with 14 goals and 11 assists for 25 points in 9 games. Godfrey, however, is tied with fellow Sault Ste. Marie Greyhound forward James Livingston for 8th-most points, and is 3rd among defensemen in the league.
Off to a good start, indeed.
