   If I have this correct (and I think I played just enough EHM to be dangerous here), it’s preferable to get a vet coming up through the waiver wire, because then you essentially get him at 50% off (the original team covers half his salary).
   If you really wanted someone, you’d probably take them on the way down just in case, but I imagine for a lot of bubble players that discount is a large factor in whether they get picked up off the wire or not.

   Unfortunately, Pgreene, Bradley and Laich would both have to clear waivers, and since they’re not on the wire now, they’re not going to be. Unless there’s a trade, it’s going to have to be from Green, Steckel, or Schultz.

    Well I think them waiving Clymer totally disproves the waiver eligible theory. They are keeping the best players….regardless. It’s a welcomed practice in my opinion.

    Unless they’re going to be up to some trickery with the IR, or they trade somebody, I don’t think there is any actual way that they can go without sending down two waiver-exempt players. Even if it’s temporary while they sort other personnel issues, I think it’s still a slap in the face to Green and Steckel if it happens.
    I’d be really disappointed in the front office if they do that, though; I’d like to think McPhee thinks farther ahead than that.
    My money is still on a trade tomorrow morning, though the closer we get to 3 PM the more convinced I’m going to be that we’re going to be trying to offload warm bodies for minimal return, which would be disappointing.
