Ice Girls of the NHL

Japers' Rink let the Capitals' limited season ticket survey out of the bag that once again broached the subject of "Ice Girls". Neither OrderedChaos nor I received the season ticket survey, so we don't know if it included more than the five questions mentioned by Japers'.

Although we have pondered the idea of Washington Capitals' Ice Girls, we don't know if this is a done deal or not. Most of the other teams have already held their tryouts. Is Washington behind the curve, so to speak? Or have super secret auditions already been held and ice girls are ready to hit the ice on September 8th?

In any case, we were curious as to how many other teams have such squads. The answers may surprise you.

[update: Dan Steinberg is at Kettler and has not seen any "ice-based cheer persons".]
[update 2: Dan Steinberg received confirmation from Nate Ewell, Director of Media Relations, that there will be no ice-based cheer persons roaming the Phone Booth this season.]

I don't know if some quality T&A is enough to rile up what is sadly just a lame crowd. If you want a party atmosphere go elsewhere, here you're overwhelmed with politicos, lawyers and other types of people oozing cash but who you'd probably rather not spend five minutes with. For that matter, maybe if we don't have to sell out to the corporate devil, fans who give a damn will show up. As long as they aren't more of those rednecks giving that 'Oh!' during our national anthem.

The Red Wings do have...well I'm not sure what you'd call them, but a group of girls who skate around (in pants and a Wings jersey) and clean up the ice, etc. - I've always been proud that the closest thing we have to "Ice girls" pick up octopi with their bare hands on a regular basis.

To see a hot girl scoop up an octopus bare-handed from the ice - can't beat that!

The New Jersey Devils have a Power Player squad as well. We don't skate, but we do go on the ice, and we have the poms and the whole bit. We should be up on the website soon.

I've seen the Devils Ice Girls at the games, throwing tee shirts to the croud with their hot little bodies. But I don't see the Devils Ice girls here, or anywhere else on the net.
That sucks, because it gives the game a great deal of spirit.
They should have a whole web site for them!
You got any pics of the NJ Devils Girls?

To the guy who mentioned Deidre, I think I know who you're talking about. Islanders, right? If it's the same girl, I had a class with her in college and that was easily my favorite class.

The Coyotes also have 2 sets. The Pack is the dance team and the Snow Patrol is like the Ice Girls, except there are guys too.

You forgot to add the Los Angeles Kings METAL Ice Girls, they are amazing, especially Sara.
