I had the honor of playing under Coach Melnick in the Montgomery House League in '02-'03 and with his son Greg for that team along with the inaugural Springbrook High School team. It was a privilege to know Brian, as he was a smart and supportive coach and an all-around generous man. I'm glad I had the chance to see him this past November at the Springbrook Alumni game. He will be greatly missed by me and everyone involved in hockey around the region. My best wishes go out to the entire Melnick family.
