The Hershey Bears have announced their first-round playoff dates with the Albany River Rats.
GAME 1: Wednesday, April 18, 7pm - Albany at Hershey
GAME 2: Thursday, April 19, 7pm - Albany at Hershey
GAME 3: Sunday, April 22, 5pm - Hershey at Albany
GAME 4: Monday, April 23, 7pm - Hershey at Albany
GAME 5: Wednesday, April 25, 7pm - Hershey at Albany *
GAME 6: Saturday, April 28, 7pm - Albany at Hershey *
GAME 7: Sunday, April 29, 5pm - Albany at Hershey *
*if necessary
In what could be an interesting subplot, all Albany home games will be in Glens Falls, some 50 miles from Albany, at the former home of the AHL’s Adirondack franchise. The Times Union Center in Albany will host the circus starting on the 26th.

I’m clearly rooting for the Bears, but you’ve gotta feel bad for the Rats’ “home ice” situation. It’s unpleasantly reminiscent of past seasons when the Phone Booth scheduled lengthy horse shows in March, forcing the Caps off to extended road trips when they’re fighting for the playoffs.
