Architechture Inc., designers of the Capitals’ practice facility, and Canstruction, a charity dedicated to the fight against hunger, have created “Ovechcan” from 1,500 donated cans of food to feed the hungry. It’s on display in the Ballston Mall, along with some other neat can-based designs (like a steam train, complete with cottonball smoke pouring from its smokestack).
The Walls of Fame line the hallways of the Capitals’ offices at the Kettler Capitals Iceplex. These fantastic collages of important figures and events in Capitals history are an impressive sight; these images hardly do them justice. And yes, that’s a very young Olie Kolzig in the third photo.
And finally, here’s the Capitals’ gorgeous, brand-spankin’ new marble-topped skate sharpener.

Any pictures of the locker room/theater room?
I especially like the balcony out towards the Caps practice sheet replete with leather chairs, etc.. must be ridiculous working there..
The theater room is great — like a miniature movie theater that seats about 40 people. But no screen was yet setup, so I didn’t take a photo.
The Caps’ locker room is also impressive: beautiful wood locker stalls, engraved metal nameplates, and very spacious. But it was empty except for Chris Clark and Brian Pothier’s equipment (they’re training for the World Championships in Moscow), so I didn’t take a photo of the overall room.
By the way, the facility has seven additional locker rooms, most of which are available for use by teams that rent the complex for rec games or beer leagues. So there will be plenty of room for all the prospects at training camp.
I may have a photo of Clark’s locker; I’ll check tonight and post it as a comment if I have a decent image.
