The Missile Defense Agency and all of their contractors are moving to Huntsville in the next three years, so the area will be growing even larger. The German settlement helped as well. Bringing it all together, the Huntsville Havoc (http://www.huntsvillehavoc.com/) play in the Von Braun Center (http://www.vonbrauncenter.com/). Yes... that Von Braun.

Actually, the hockey heritage in Huntsville is rich and distinctive. At least three minor pro teams have called Huntsville home over the years. This I found at USA Hockey this morning:
“Hockey has been a big part of Huntsville since George Wallace was governor of Alabama in 1962. At the time, Huntsville was a small textile town with a bullet factory situated in northern Alabama. Then, NASA started to make big strides in the state and Huntsville grew quickly. With it came an influx of new residents from hockey hotbeds in the Northeast and Midwest.
The town grew from a population of 20,000 to 250,000 in little time, and the northerners brought their passion for hockey. The game grew quickly.
Ed Ragland joined the Huntsville Amateur Hockey Association (HAHA) in 1967 and has been with it ever since.
Ragland has seen the program grow since the ’60s to one today with more than 1,000 players, ranging from youth to adult hockey. The program competes nationally at all levels and is highly competitive against the rest of the country.”

Lord would that be confusing if Notre Dame and North Dakota make the final. Which team are you rooting for? The one with the interlocking ND of course. The Only thing better would be BC vs ND. As an alum, I always enjoy seeing the Jesuits best the pseudo Catholics.
