I believe Semin's sudden passing has to do with being on the ice with AO.

You mentioned that the Isles (and other teams also) put players in front of our net. I still find it amazing that we are not parking #87 or anyone else in front of their net (especially on the PP).

Oh and I'm happy to let things get out of hand - giving McPhee presumably a greater chance to draft an impact player with our 1st pick.
As to whether it would hurt confidence and development of the team, all of the injuries and adjustment to the departures of the recently traded, especially Zubrus, provides plenty of plausible excuses for falling apart at the end.

Semin's sudden generosity with the puck I'm sure has to do with his recent benching and a talking to from Hanlon, et al.
That pass looked low % to me - he had a great chance to shoot and should have roofed it. I suppose over time he'll achieve a balance of knowing when to shoot and when to dish. Right now I think he is going to force passes a bit as as not to get benched again. Obviously playing with a #8 helps.
