Whether or not I think they are a good way to decide the ultimate outcome of a regular season game, I'm just tired of seeing Capitals games go to shootouts. Seems to me like it's getting better pretty much all the way around. We became almost giddy with disbelief as player after player missed — two backup goalies looking like Vezina reborn — looking to one another as if to say, "This may go on forever!" Nobody in our section was surprised when the Caps lost, though, and that speaks to the desperate need for some Capitals shootout improvement.
