“not that funny and also rather dorky.” Awesome. I’m gonna put that on my resume.
Anyhow, what CapsChick says is true, as is what CapsNut says. I got a weird vibe, and then they were on the road, and then they had some home games that conflicted with things in my life, and with my wife being 8.5 months pregnant I’m choosing to work less 14-hour days than before, so I’ve skipped a few games. Also, as I’ve mentioned elsewhere, the search for offbeat sports stories is much more difficult around losing teams.
Anyhow, I’m going to Caps practice tomorrow because I don’t want you all to completely give up on me.

I always thought the hockey player “attitude” being different than MLB, NFL and NBA compatriots was a plus. They might be more “serious,” but they’re generally more down-to-earth and accomodating. again, probably a canadian thing.

I find him pretty entertaining. Though what CapsChick is talking in regards to hockey players being different than a typical NBA/NFL type player is somewhat true. Its a canadian thing .

Are we really missing that much from him?
He’s not that funny and also rather dorky. I could see why the players wouldn’t want anything to do with him.

Though what Caps Chick is saying is rather interesting. A couple of weeks ago he said that the Caps were on the road too much. So who really knows?

It’s interesting, I had e-mailed Dan about two months ago regarding this same phenomenon. He informed me that he would love to cover the Caps more often, but got a “weird vibe” from the locker room – kind of like the guys didn’t really appreciate what type of humor he was going for and wanted to just talk hockey…something guys like Tarik and others can do.
Just what he told me – take it with a grain of salt. It wouldn’t surprise me, though. Hockey players are not the same as NBA or NFL guys; they’re probably more guarded around the media and most are not as comfortable when the spotlight shifts from their game to them personally.
