A while back I ranted about my hatred of the “O” shouted during the anthem at Capitals games. At a recent Capitals game, two Orioles players were shown on the JumboTron. To my surprise, the boos the crowd directed toward the players outweighed the cheers.
I have nothing against the Orioles myself — I enjoy the occasional ballpark visit with friends but I don’t follow the sport. However, it was interesting to hear a DC crowd spew such anti-O’s venom. I imagine the booing was equal parts “We have our own baseball team now!” and “Screw you, Peter Angelos, for trying to block DC from getting a franchise!”
Yet how many of the fans who booed also shouted “O” during the anthem? Caps fans: Stop the O!

I myself prefer to add a “V” after the O, just for kicks.
Go Jays go!
After the Caps apparently incessant slide, I’d looking forward to baseball.
Wouldn’t necessarily blame them, I’m an hardcore O’s fan, but I’m not too happy with Peter Angelos. That and.. he’s not really the best owner
You hit the nail on the head. I booed them because I don’t root for the O’s anymore, and I hate Angelos (for various reasons). Although there’s a certain joy in seeing a team (that you don’t root for) self-destruct before your eyes. And no, I don’t yell “O”.
