Followup on Terrific Travis Morin

travism.JPGOFB is lucky to have the caliber of reader it does. An hour or two after my cup-a-joe file was up this morning I received a reader tipoff to a fine and fresh profile of Caps’ prospect Travis Morin that ran in last week’s Mankato Free Press. Thanks to loyal reader sk84fun for the link as well as shaking loose the cobwebs of my aging memory about the performance of both Morin and Andrew Gordon at last summer’s Caps’ prospect camp in Hershey. They were week-long standouts at camp and skated together on a line in the camp’s concluding scrimmage, creating — and finishing — some eye-opening rushes.

Both Morin and Gordon having great years. I definitely hope the caps sign Morin after his senior season is over so he can get an early taste of the AHL (ala Schultz last year).
Gordon is a junior so there is no rush.

Agreed. Two quality players having great seasons amongst the best-of-the-best in college hockey. I have seen both play this year on TV. Morin is fun to watch – a lot of hockey savvy that you just can’t teach. Hopefully he ends up in Hershey in a few weeks.
Both should get a look for All-America/All WCHA.
