With the Ovie/Ted NHL promo getting such positive reactions, it seems an apropos time to revisit the classic Olie Kolzig Capitals ad from Ted’s first year. This is the only one from that series of commercials I could find; if anyone has video of the other classics, please post links to ‘em as comments. I’d love to see Bondra & Simon in the grocery store again, or Oates with the bloody shirts at the laundromat, or even the Gonchar “He scores” ad (which supposedly never aired). But for now, enjoy:

I liked the Crazy Ron used-car salesman ad…
And my personal fave was “Line Change”
I loved the face off one. Don’t remember who was in it, maybe Kono. It was my favorite.
Good call on all three counts, particularly the Kono faceoff-at-the-dinner-table one. His helter-skelter eyes made for great theater.
The Kono Vs. Nikolishin one was my favorite.
Good call DJ, I’d forgotten that Kono’s opponent was Niko… those two staring across the table at each other was hysterical.
Are you serious, Chris Simon and Peter Bondra in the grocery store is THE best. Old lady had no idea….
