Congratulations to Alexander Ovechkin who becomes the first Washington Capital to be voted into the starting lineup of an NHL All-Star game since Rod Langway in the 1985-86 season.
We’ll find out if Olaf Kolzig made the team next week.

“the first Washington Capital on the starting lineup on an NHL All-Star game since Rod Langway in the 1985-86 season”
So are we choosing to completely ignore Jagr’s tenure in Washington? Because I’m totally okay with that.
Eh, I had that a bit wrong. AO is the first Capital to be voted into the starting lineup by fan ballot.

Thanks for pointing that out, Biff. I’ll update the post.
True story: A couple of years ago my son wanted Caps Jersey (good boy) and my wife was shopping at a flea market sale and found a used one for like a 2 bucks for him. She’s telling me on the phone all excited and I’m thinking it must be a t-shirt or something. I get home and its a Jagr jersey and I’m like “You paid HOW MUCH for this!?”
I miss the visor. Do you guys think Semin will get invited?

Ovechkin’s name doesn’t get mentioned until the 9th graf, and he is not quoted (both Crosby and Briere are quoted).
Is this a joke?
That’s awful George, though it’s an AP article (not written by the Times). Then again, the fact that the Times couldn’t bother to write its own article about AO getting named a starter on the All Star team is itself pretty terrible.
