Knee-jerks: vs. Florida, 10/18/06

Brief knee-jerks today, as I left my notes at home this morning.
-The Caps had a lot of trouble clearing their own zone last night, but last night’s culprits were the forwards. Too much doodling about beneath their own blueline.
-Stating the obvious, here, but Auld didn’t have the best game of his life, and Bradley’s doesn’t go in most nights.
-Outside of the 1st period, I thought Florida outplayed the Caps.
-Ovechkin looked a lot better out there tonight.
-Candidates for team MVP for the first 5 games are easy to figure: Clark and Semin.
-Semin was skating with the first power play unit late.
-A win is a win. Getting 6 of a possible 10 points in the first 5 games, against decent opposition, is commendable. It’s just a short sample, but a good start has never hurt a hockey team.

Geez man…Caps haven’t even played them yet tonight and you’re already killing em.
