The Streak Is Over

Kuklas Korner tipped me off to the article in The Colorado Springs Gazette which reports that the longest recorded sellout streak in NHL history ended Monday. The Colorado Avalanche vs. Chicago Blackhawks game on Oct 16th was not a sellout. They had previously sold out 487 consecutive regular season and playoff games starting from when the team moved from Quebec before the 1995-96 season.
